PHENOMENON DESCRIPTION
The Archen Manifold — the first and most complete fractal, the mathematical structure from which all of Nexus Prime's physical laws emerge — is not static. It is a process. Reality is continuously generated from its recursive algorithms, layer by layer, from the deepest substrate code upward through the physical, digital, and metaphysical layers of observable existence. A Fractal Substrate Anomaly occurs when this generation process becomes locally incorrect.
The substrate code corrupts. The corruption propagates upward. Every layer of reality built on that substrate node begins generating wrong. Physics fail not because physical laws were violated, but because the code that writes physical laws briefly stopped generating them correctly. In their place, the corrupted substrate generates whatever its broken algorithms produce. In documented cases, this includes geometry that cannot be mapped to three dimensions, architectural structures that recursively contain themselves, sound that encodes pattern-language from the Deep Code, and direct cognitive access to the substrate layer for observers with augmented neural architecture.
Most critically: FSAs generate more FSAs. The substrate's recursive nature means each corruption event seeds the surrounding substrate with instability. A node in the substrate begins generating recursive corrupted copies of nearby reality. Buildings recur wrongly — identical structures appearing at 1:7 scale but with incorrect internal geometry. Time recurs wrongly — minutes replay at progressively smaller temporal intervals until causality locally inverts. Persons recur wrongly — individuals report encountering recursive copies of themselves generated by the corrupted substrate, following slightly different behavioral algorithms.
