The Crossroads neutral zone — a former temple complex where even hostile entities can negotiate under enchantments preventing direct violence — functions as the district's closest equivalent to a civic institution accessible to all species. The Quantum Quasar, attributed to the entity Zz'zzk, is the most famous cross-district establishment in Nexus Prime: a bar that exists simultaneously across three probability branches, allowing patrons to interact with versions of themselves that made different choices. Neon Babylon's belief that everything can be measured, optimized, and sold is fundamentally at odds with Shadow's Edge's understanding that some forms of value — the pack bond, the blood contract, the lich's centuries-long game — operate outside market logic entirely. Hextech's insistence that reality is negotiable terrifies Neon Babylon's corporate planning departments, who need certainty to function. The Nidus Profundis's existence as proof that entropy can acquire purpose disturbs all of them, differently but equally. And yet: Neon Babylon needs Hextech's probability analytics. Shadow's Edge needs Neon Babylon's pharmaceutical supply chains. Hextech needs Shadow's Edge's understanding of temporal anomalies at district borders.
